Newspaper Girl :: Flat Cap + Wide Leg Pants

Sunday, February 26, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 4 Comments

Hi everyone,

This weekend was a bit of a crazy one. To start of, the weather dipped to a cold 9 - 10 degrees and out came our wool cardigans and thick winter jackets and coats. Seriously, its the end of February and whilst I am following many IGrammers who are starting to post Spring outfits, here I am all bundled up this weekend.

Feeling a little grey and down - I had to pump up the volume of this outfit by going a little crazy and pairing it with a very bling choker necklace.

Back to my outfit, patches in various forms e.g seals, flowers, lipsticks on jeans, front of parkas, bomber jackets and also on sleeves, this trend has been trending for awhile. Check out this Stradivarius jumper top with slight flare cuffs that is on sale at the moment.

Going into details, the lacing edges on my Fendi Dotcom bag is pretty cute. Hence styling it this time without the attached coloured pocket attached on the outside so you can enjoy the beauty of the details of this bag.

I also took the opportunity this weekend to meet up with fellow Instagrammer  @mamamika who I met online but quickly build a great friendship with her and her family. As she is also from back home, our friendship immediately took off once we made the time to get connected and met for drinks with our other halfs. So much to share, so much to laugh about and reminisce of back home. I enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal at her place.

These extremely comfy wide leg cotton ribbed pants from Uniqlo is in the perfect style to complete the look. A style that can easily take you from winter to spring and certainly an item that would be ideal to take on trips as it's pretty much non-crease.

A look inspired by the Newspaper boy - I am so loving my flat cap to complete this look. With the cold winds blowing a wise choice keeping my ears from the draft and feeling nice and warm.

Thanks for visiting and do leave me your comments below if you like this look. Please do share what styles of outfit would you like to see me trend in the coming weeks? I would love to bring you outfits that would interest you.

Dress Like The First Lady! ( featuring FashionMia)

Tuesday, February 21, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 2 Comments

Hi everyone,

Touching on a topic which to some may be a little sensitive but keeping political views aside - I have been following ( and liking) the recent dress styles of the First Lady of the USA - Melania Trump.

Personally, I do like her style which is simple yet elegant and classic. Therefore this got me a little excited when I recently discovered I could "Get her Look For Less" from FashionMia.

As many of us have closely followed the fashion styles of Michelle Obama, The Duchess of Cambridge - Kate Middleton and other heads of state, I personally feel that Melania Trump also has a style worth following and watching.

If you recently recall during her speech at the Republican Convention, Melania wore a lovely white Roksanda dress with a beautiful bodycon silhouette and lantern statement sleeves. Therefore imagine my surprise whilst searching online for women's bodycon dresses, I would chance upon this similar style dress and was simply elated that I could trend this look without the big US$ 2,000 price tag.

Elegant Bell Sleeve Plain Bodycon Dress
Naturally, I also picked out a couple more fancy dresses which I felt would be perfect to add to your Spring/ Summer 2017 wardrobe update reverberating the classic style of Melania Trump.

With Awards Season 2017 also just around the corner, starting with the Academy Awards on 26th February 2017 -  many of you may be invited to dress up parties to be a part of these events. Why not grab yourself great looking dresses at a fraction of the cost and yet be a true stunner at your parties.

With Mrs Trump as an inspiration, I found some lovely cheap dresses online one could easily style and trend for those Award Parties.

Red, Red Wine :: Embroidered Shirt + Burgundy Cape

Saturday, February 18, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 2 Comments

My goodness - is it the weekend again already? How quick the clock is ticking.....

Weather is warming up a fair bit here in Hong Kong but the temperature difference between mornings, day and night is so considerable. Therefore a nice outerwear is still required to keep warm during the mornings and evenings and layering seems to be the answer to dressing these days.

I am sure many of you would have picked up on the embroidery trend on jeans, blouses, shirts, bomber jackets ( and the list goes on...) over  Winter and Spring. Flower motifs, birds, insects seem to be the fave pattern and I would blame Gucci for setting this trend.

Nonetheless, many high street fashion stores like Zara, H&M, Topshop have all picked up on this and therefore you will find many of such similar style shirts and blouses being sold in these boutiques. I fell in love with them as you did but, this was a piece I found in a local boutique for US$ 8!!!

The pretty pheonix pattern called out to me and on a lightweight cotton shirt - this was a no brainer of a buy as it was a versatile piece I could easily mix and match from winter to spring to summer to autumn and hopefully continue to trend it next year.

Naturally as my wardrobe hosted a bunch of mix and match items in my fave shade of Burgundy hence, this was the storyboard for putting this look together. From the cape to the handbag to the skirt and to the ankle booties. Just short of my Burgundy hat ( ha ha ha!)

I have told myself this is it... no more Burgundy buys for now. However just like Olive, I bet it won't be long I would chance upon something else in Burgundy ( or Olive for that matter) and end up buying it. Need to get bolder with colour combinations and selections.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and casual post and look out for my recommendations on evening dresses ( the first of such I would be doing) seeing that Awards Season is here!

Cape : old ( similar here)
Shirt : Coccolatte ( get it heresimilar here & here)

Oh My Valentine ! :: Lantern Sleeve Blouse + Fur Vest

Tuesday, February 14, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Happy Valentine's Everyone!

A quick mid week post to highlight my somewhat twist on the typical classic Valentine's outfit - often being a very feminine sort of dress such as a little black / lace dress, red dress, skirt combinations etc...

This gorgeous lantern sleeve top was one I had found on my favourite online go to store - Shein.com for the latest fashion trends and items at a fraction of the cost. Seeing the nights  in Hong Kong these few days are pretty cold averaging 12 - 15 degrees, I threw on this fur vest to keep me warm as dinner was outdoors yet being sleeveless, accomodated for the showcasing of this statement sleeve blouse.

It was a casual dinner planned therefore, I decided to go statement with the blouse yet casual with the pants. Stiletto ankle booties was the perfect answer to finish the look.

I hope you enjoyed this look. Now you can trend this same look from my favourite items from Shein.com.

Black Boat Neck Lantern Sleeve Bowknot Blouse ( available in 3 colours)

Black Scallop Hem Crop Flared Pants

Black Faux Fur Vest
Black Metal Skeleton Hand Accent Studded Clutch Bag

Gold Plated Hollow Square Brooch ( perfect when belt is tied over)

Elegant Rhinestone Flower Wedding Party Brooch
Gold Color Metal Ball Statement Rings

Black Chain Embellished Stiletto Ankle Booties

Black Cutout Point Toe Stiletto Suede Booties

Have fun this evening and hope you enjoyed this look!

Top : Shein.com
Jeans :  ZARA
Clutch & Brooch : Chanel
Booties : New Look

Love,
Simone xoxo
